Introduction

Osteoarthritis, known as degenerative joint disease or osteoarthritis, is a form of joint disease which occurs as a result of degenerative changes in the joints usually marked by cartilage damage or degradation within each joint. The commonly afflicted joint is of the knee. The other affected joints are the elbows, feet, toes, back, spine, and thighs.
